After several amateur productions which included three years with "The Melbourne Gang Show". Steve pursued a career in rock bands, first as lead singer in "Release" then "Tokyo" and then as keyboardist/vocalist in 'U.J.A.K.' and "King Hit" with Maria Mercedes. In 1983 Steve entered the piano bar circuit and worked extensively throughout Australia over the next 12 years. This included many contracts on Hamilton Island, Cairns, Port Douglas, Mt Buller etc. In 1986 Steve appeared in "Star Search", winning 5 episodes as male vocalist and reaching the semi-finals. In the 1990s Steve entered the field of TV and film working mainly as an extra, but also small parts for current affair shows and training videos.
